There may be times when life presents itself with obstacles in which attempting to navigate them alone can feel overwhelming. Although making the decision to seek therapy can feel like a big decision, doing so can be an empowering experience that helps not only address present life challenges, but can also help address underlying factors such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, past traumatic experiences, or relationship distress that may be playing a role in contributing to the present challenges.

I understand that the idea of being vulnerable through sharing personal feelings and information can seem somewhat daunting. With this in mind, my aim is to create a safe environment for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families where you as the client feel accepted and validated, and feel free to express your own unique self without the fear of judgment.

My perspective on therapy involves taking a person-centered approach while holding the belief that the client possesses the strength and skills to overcome life’s challenges and grow to reach their full potential when provided with the proper support. Through applying cultural sensitivity, being mindful of the influence of social constructs, and taking into account spiritual and religious beliefs, a focus will be on helping to provide a deeper sense of clarity with the goal being to help the client come to understand their most authentic self.

Depending on the client, I will apply a variety of evidence-based practices aimed at addressing the client’s unique needs and preferences. I also believe that, as a way to help the client grow and develop the necessary tools to overcome challenges, it is important for therapy to be a collaborative process in which the therapist and client work together to come up with client-specific solutions, with the therapist helping guide the client through the self-exploratory process of therapy as a way to provide deeper insight into the self.

My previous experience in the field has involved working with adults struggling with issues relating to substance abuse in a group therapy setting. The experience provided me with a deeper understanding on the role that certain underlying factors such as emotional and thought patterns can play in influencing behaviors, and it also gave me a deeper appreciation for the role that spirituality can potentially play in one’s mental health.

I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Brandman University and am currently in my final year as a graduate student at University of Massachusetts Global working on my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Professional Clinical Counseling.

I have completed training through Fluence in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help guide and accompany you through the process of self-exploration while helping you come to discover your authentic self.
